GSM version of Palm Pre has been caught on tape in Vietnam, or so the “sources” say. There will be a short video after the break so keep reading. This probably means that the GSM version of Palm Pre after it has been spoted several times, first in Barcelona in February, then earlier today in London is getting nearer and nearer to its launch. The video below shows few Vietnamese gadget lovers fiddling with the GSM version (confirmed) of Palm Pre. Is it really true we dont know but we hope (for Palm`s sake) that they will launch it really really soon. Palm Pre has a great chance to become a hit in markets that are huge and liberal like India, Arab countries,Japan and the old continent naturally. That markets are almost exclusivelly GSM/UMTS based. Palm announced “Real reviewer” program just a few weeks ago, for all the social media sites out there. They hope to gain some widespread “organic” credibility troughout the web with it. It is the first time that Palm has opened tis kind of activities to non professionals. it has allways been out there for pro journalists but this time they are counting on bloggers, online journalists and reviewers to get the word on the Pre out.
And we must admit that this tactic is just brilliant, if you are a twitter/friendfeed/facebook user with a large flock of followers (let`s say 5000+) you are an ideal candidate for the “organic reviewer” position. So if you get lucky you`ll get one Palm pre for 6 months to dissect and describe from every existing angle.

So the main story here is a rumor that “real reviewer” program is launching this week, and all who applied and entered will be recieving their copy by the middle of the week. So prepare for buzz whirlpool of Palm pre sightings and news during the upcoming weeks. And it was about time.

Hold on to your hats Palm lovers it seems that we are in motion. Palm has updated some of the regional pages and most of them are showing Palm Pre “pre launch” promo.

The update on Palm’s International page shows Palm Pre is coming to most of Europe ( France, UK, Italy, Germany, Spain and Netherlands), Asia (Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Singapore and the Phillipines) Australia, New Zeland and Venezuela in Latin America.

Unfortunately there are no details on the carriers or the launch date but there is definately something going on. I dont know about you but this sounds like an “silent announchement” on wich countries will be launcing Palm Pre first. Finally some “real” news, we are keeping our fingeres crossed.

Awesome guys from the PreCommunity.com revealed something pretty interesting. While there was no official presentation or even a mention of a GSM version of Palm Pre, there are a few ones running around Palm’s booth in Barcelona. And guess what, the rumors are true, Vodafone will probably be exclusive carrier for Palm Pre in Europe. You can say that that there is no real evidence here but I think we need nothing more. The only thing we can hope for now is that Palm hits a deal with Vodafone FAST and announces it for 2009 :).

It seems that everyone that was speculating about March 1st as the Palm Pre launch date were not that far off. According to the BoyGeniusReport, that somehow got ahold of the Sprint EOL products list. As you can see things are getting really interesting, amongst other models there is a note on the Palm Pre “in stock on the 3/15″ (March 15th). It’s not much, but i think it’s enough.

According to BGR the Palm Pre will replace Palm 755P during that period. Like we sait it is not hard, undisputable evidence, but for many of us that are looking for any shread of “proof” it is enough.

So it seems that Palm decided to have an early go on the “throne”, shortly after Worldwide Mobile Conference in Barcelona, where we hope to see more Pre demos Pre will be introduced to the world. This rises other concerns like, will this be USA only launch, or if maybee GSM version of Palm Pre is ready to ship on the same date. I think that March 15th is a bit prematured for a complete and polished product and I’m really skeptic about the date. Opinions?

It’s time to go in the rumor domain since no real news are flowing in. There are several “reports” that Palm Pre might hit the shelves as early as March. There is nothing specific but it seems reasonable to assume. The reports around the web are saying that Sprint is already training their sales staff on the Palm Pre, it came from a pen of a serious journalist Sarah Lacy so there is no reason not to believe her.

Here is the deal, the earlier release date, the better chance they can catch up with Apple, BlackBerry and the other crowd. As I see it, for Palm time is of essence, earlier they launch they have a better chance of fighting off Apple with their copyright/patent whatever infringement accusations, especially when Steve is on the leave.

So March is a perfect date, they announce the launch date at WMC in Barcelona, giving time for end buyers to cash in and prepare, at the same time they are one step ahead of everyone else.
Android, Apple, RIM and everyone else will be launching not sooner than summer. So I don’t see why not.

Oh and I almost forgot, we just might have a secret clue, a subliminal message only for the cool kids to see, giving away the launch date. Check out the time stamp on every other official Palm Pre picture :).
